iPhone / iPad

Official Apple App Store

Install RustDesk Remote Desktop from the official Apple App Store.

iPhone and iPad installs come only from the App Store — there is no separate installer file.

Downloads are provided directly by the official RustDesk GitHub repository or the Apple App Store.

Only download RustDesk from the official RustDesk website or official app store.

First-time setup

Set Up RustDesk in Four Steps

Follow the numbered steps in order. When you finish, send your RustDesk ID to the support technician and they can connect.

  1. 1. Download and Install RustDesk

Install RustDesk on the device that needs support. The support technician must also have RustDesk installed on their device.

    1. Download the Windows installer from the Download section above.
    2. Open the downloaded file. If Windows asks for confirmation, choose Yes to continue.
    3. Follow the installer prompts and finish the installation.
    4. Open RustDesk from the Start menu.
  2. 2. Find ID / Relay Server

    1. Open RustDesk.
    2. Open Settings.
    3. Select Network.
    4. Open ID/Relay Server.

On some RustDesk versions this is under Menu → Network → ID/Relay Server.

The exact menu position may look slightly different depending on your RustDesk version and device.

  3. 3. Enter the Support Server

    Support server settings

Enter these values exactly as shown.

    ID Server
    remote.dialpos.com
    Relay Server
    remote.dialpos.com
    API Server
    Leave blank
    Key
    ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

    Protected

Save the settings. Restart RustDesk if the new server is not immediately active.

  4. 4. Confirm RustDesk Is Connected

Return to the main RustDesk screen and check that:

    • A RustDesk ID appears.
    • The status indicates the service is ready.
    • There is no network or server error.
    • The custom server settings remain saved.

Send your RustDesk ID to the support technician. Do not publicly share your permanent password.

Desktop permissions

Allow Security Permissions for Full Control

Each permission unlocks one specific capability — you stay in charge of what the technician can do. Not every operating system supports every capability.

  • Viewing the screen

The technician can see what is on your display.

  • Controlling the device

The technician can act on your device, with your approval.

  • Keyboard and mouse

Allows the technician to move the pointer and type.

  • Clipboard access

Lets copied text pass between the two devices.

  • File transfer

Lets the technician send or receive files when you allow it.

  • Audio sharing

Shares device audio during the session where supported.

Windows

  1. Open RustDesk.
  2. Accept the Windows security or firewall prompt if displayed.
  3. Allow RustDesk on private networks.
  4. Approve the remote connection.
  5. Select the requested permissions.
  6. Enable keyboard and mouse control when prompted.
  7. Run RustDesk with elevated permissions only when required for administrator windows or protected applications.

Without elevated permission, the support technician may not be able to control administrator prompts or some protected windows.

Keep Windows Defender, your antivirus, User Account Control, and the firewall turned on — RustDesk works alongside them and none of them need to be disabled.

Mobile setup — Android

Android: Turn On Screen Capture

Android asks for screen capture the first time a session starts. Follow the phone cards below in order.

  1. Open RustDesk.

  2. Select Share Screen or Start Service.

  3. Tap Start Now on the Android screen-capture prompt.

  4. Keep RustDesk open or running in the background.

  1. Allow notification permission when required.

  2. Allow display-over-other-apps permission only when RustDesk requires it.

  3. Allow battery optimization exceptions when needed for a stable session.

Full remote control

Screen capture only lets the technician see the screen.

Accessibility permission may be required for the technician to control the device.

Android Settings → Accessibility → Installed Apps or Downloaded Apps → RustDesk → Allow

The Accessibility menu name may vary by phone manufacturer and Android version.

Some Android devices only support screen viewing and may not support full remote input control.

Where to find it on common phones

  • Samsung

Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps → RustDesk

  • Google Pixel

Settings → Accessibility → Downloaded apps → RustDesk

  • OnePlus

Settings → Accessibility → Downloaded apps → RustDesk

  • Motorola

Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps → RustDesk

To stop screen capture: open the RustDesk notification and tap Stop, or return to RustDesk and end the session.

Mobile setup — iPhone and iPad

iPhone and iPad: Start Screen Broadcast

On Apple devices, support works through screen broadcast. Start it from inside RustDesk when the session begins.

Start the broadcast

  1. Open RustDesk.
  2. Start the remote support session.
  3. Tap Share Screen or Start Broadcast.
  4. Select RustDesk from the Screen Broadcast menu.
  5. Tap Start Broadcast.
  6. Wait for the countdown.
  7. Keep the broadcast active during the support session.

Alternative, where supported: Control Center → Press and hold Screen Recording → Select RustDesk → Start Broadcast

On iPhone and iPad, RustDesk can share the screen, but iOS normally does not allow another person to fully control the device remotely. The support technician can guide you while you perform the actions.

To stop broadcasting: tap the red screen-sharing indicator and stop the broadcast, or open Control Center and stop Screen Recording.

The broadcast picker may look slightly different depending on your iOS version.

Session security

Stay Safe During Remote Support

A legitimate support session always leaves you in control. Keep these rules in mind before, during, and after every session.

  • Only accept support sessions you requested.
  • Confirm the technician's identity.
  • Never share passwords, banking credentials, or authentication codes.
  • Do not approve unexpected administrator prompts.
  • End the session if anything feels suspicious.
  • Close RustDesk after support if unattended access is not needed.
  • Remove or disable permanent passwords when they are no longer required.
  • Disable Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions after support when appropriate.
  • Never publish your RustDesk ID and permanent password together.
